once upon, in my life..

2 weeks to start of uni

Its 2 weeks till uni starts for me! yeah, most of my friends have alr started sch - some O week, some lessons alr, but its still 2 more weeks of break for me! and what have i been doing? slacking mostly, haha. with the occasional activities here and there. and there's till law camp nxt week.

Spent the weekend hanging out with the guys and helping my bro move hse. missed sunday soccer cos of that and now my feet r itching like mad! cant wait to play sunday soccer again! just have to score goals, haha. watched charity shield at john's place with the guys too. man utd won by penalties! van der sar saved like 3 in a row...thats outstanding or what? haha

Went for dinner with some ppl from smube last night. was qt surprised at the turn out, cos it was 2 freshies only. didnt know what to expect but i guess im gonna be involved in production of some of the episodes for campus tv. a new experience, hope that it'll be good. wanna do dj too! think its qt fun, but doubt im gd enough for that. dun have my talk cock buddy, eugene, hahaha. if not we can have the Ryan&Eugene show again!

This morning was law academic briefing. i was late for it and so was so many ppl! there was this girl that came in half hr late and u know what was the funny part? she was wearing a shirt that said "Little Miss Late". hahaha how hilarious is dat man. talk abt making a point. anyway the briefing was kinda lame actually. there werent much new info told to us. only stuff that we alr know actually. perhaps its just for us law students to meet one another? haha..

So after the briefing, i went to get some stationery with ziqian at bras brasah popular before spending the whole afternoon at my bro's new place at rochor. i walked there cos its within walking distance from sch!

Hmm, feeling kinda super bored with my image now actually. thinking of highlighting my hair, or getting a piercing or even a tattoo!! haha...i know i dun really approve of geri getting one. but actually i've always been thinking of getting one, haha. my only problem is dat its permanent..duh. haha cos im pretty sure i dun want it anymore in the future. if only there's a way to reverse tattoos, haha. anyway i wonder what i shld do with myself! any suggestions? hehz..

FTB

Just got back from FTB run 3 ytd. i have to say that it totally exceeded my expectations triple folds. haha. i actually went there thinking it was gonna suck la. i mean think abt it, it was at OBS and we're not gonna use the facilities AND it was problem-solving games(think planning and execution) that inculcates integrity, teamwork etc. i mean anything compulsory cant be that good rite?

But thank god my grp rocks! haha. i totally think it was the grp mates and our dear faci, sheena, that made the camp a blast. and it was sheena that indirectly brought our grp closer. it was a long story where by we had this game that involved walking thru hoola hoops without touching it while having all our legs binded to one another by rope. each time we touched we had to restart. after a few failed attempts we decided to keep quiet when we touched the hoops so as to complete the task. then sheena became qt disapointed in us cos we didnt have integrity. so in the end, we decided to do it again to "make sheena happy". in the end, "make sheena happy" became our grp's motto and we had a lot of fun doing it, hahaha.

We werent like doing things for the sake of her la. we wanted to play the games well but everytime we'll just make a joke outta it by saying "aiyah, make sheena happy rite?" haha, that was super funny. and we played lotsa silly games while waiting ard too, like YeeHa, polar bear and murderer. murderer was best. we played it over 3 days. in which ben and i who were not the murderers keep stirring shit among our grp that we "killed" off more ppl than the murderers actually did. that part was the funniest man, haha. it was super duper fun haha.

So actually FTB was not that bad afterall :) We had tunnelling and rafting which was pretty fun. i was actually very hands on during rafting, tying the knots and constructing the raft. i didnt know i cld actually tie knots haha. and our raft was the best la, made it out the furthest too! but still didnt touch the objective cos of the 1metre high waves. sea was too choppy! i felt like i was on the "crazy bull" ride haha. we had final challenge on the last day which was damn shag. running ard east coast holding hands with one another and completing tasks. a pity that my section, retro groovers, lost by 3 mins. we actually won by 2 mins but the other grp cld minus 5 mins cos of their power card they had. so we lost by 3 mins. what a waste la! damn!

My grp went to eat after the camp. think we were the only grp. even sheena came. qt glad we managed to click so well. will be gg for convocation and freshman bash with them. hopefully our friendships wld go beyond these stuff. heard some grps actually just lost contact from there.

Met up with my sports camp grp today. went to denise's hse for pizza and watched Disturbia. QX was super scared la cos it was a horror show. and he's a guy. kept covering his eyes with the pillow. super funny haha! nice meeting up with them tho some ppl cldnt make it. celebrated denise's and deborah's bday for them. white chocolate macadamia from secret recipe!

Went to the SMU gym today too. nice place but qt crowded. a lot of students go there after their interns cos its so near their work place. i watched pck while running la, cos every treadmill has an indiv tv. cool rite? haha...

Brother Bonding

My eldest bro Brian is moving house soon. he is moving with his family from his current flat at Upper Cross St to Rochor Rd. thts like from town to town. haha. it used to be near chinatown and now its just next to bugis. the locations just rocks la. so near smu, heh heh. anyway i went down to help him paint his toilets today. he said he needed my help so i volunteered my both hands.

There were other renovations gg on ard the hse - fans, windows etc. so my bro and i got our hands dirty as well by painting the toilets. it was qt a fun experience for me. seriously, it was my first time painting la. usually for my hse, we will just ask my dad's workers to do it for us den i will just choose the colour and watch, haha. at first i was worried that the paint wld stain my hand, clothes etc. but after the initial contact, in which i flicked paint onto myself, i cldnt care less, haha. i actually thot it was cool towards the end to see my hands with paint stains. felt like a man, whahaha. a very hands-on kinda man at least, lol. anyway i just thot that painting is qt a bonding activity. i mean, both my bro and i in that small toilet painting, cant help but talk rite? ya lor, so we talked abt mambo jumbo and zouk and my ex gf, hahaha. he thot it was funny how the songs i craze over now are the songs that were popular during his teenager times. cos i was playing to him my mambo playlist la. and he's like 30ish alr so u can picture that rite? i thot it was qt cool. actually my 2nd bro is an 80s music fan too! its in the blood! =)

Anyway something happened during lunch that was super funny. we were at the coffeeshop having the famous bak kut teh when i saw these 2 women coming for lunch. they just dumped a packet of tissue paper on the table n went to buy their food. for those who dont know, the packet of tissue is actually a way of reserving seats in shenton way. does anyone not know this? anyway even though i know this since a long time, i still think its such a ridiculous idea. anyway i wasnt too happy abt these 2 women's assumption that their tissue paper was gonna reserve them that seat. cant stand their stupid faces as they put down the tissue paper. anyway i was just thinking abt that ridiculous idea and their ignorance for assumptions when the cleaning uncle went to their table and innocently pocketed their packet of tissue paper and den gave the table a wipe. haha! i contemplated saying smt but then decided that those 2 women shld be taught a lesson. anyway i thot the idea of seeing their faces was too funny to refuse. but i also thot that it was really mean of me to not do anything and pretend i didnt see anything. but as i was thinking of that, another couple sat down at the table alr. that was when i knew it was Fate, hahahaha! so i had a good laugh sharing this story with my bro and watching the 2 women's faces when they come back with their food, hahaha! i know its mean, but hey, serve them right la.

Note to all: Never assume that ur packet of tissue paper wld be safe on the table. dont play ur shenton way tricks at the rochor district, hahaha!

Past week

I've been pretty occupied the past week. well nicely occupied i wld say. and credit to smu sports camp which took up 3 days alr, haha. smu sports camp was well, SMashing! haha thats the name of the camp actually, Smashing 07 and Superheroes was the theme. so we were all split into grps who r named after superheroes from the genres of cartoons to movies to anime. anything goes along the line of Captain Planet, Carebears, Harry Potter(??), sailormoon etc.

Well it was my first SMU "thing" i guess. at least its the longest i've spent within the sch compound, more than a few hrs a time for talks. i guess it was fun, from the barely-talking-icebreaker games to the we-are-friends-now thing, haha. it was only a short camp, 3 days 2 night but i think that was enough la. thankfully we were occupied by enough sports to last the 3 days.

First day morning was icebreakers where i played games that i nv played before. qt funny la, with the forfeits and all. i was made to roll across SMU green competing with 2 other guys. ended up with a white shirt that is muddied all the way at the back. made for good conversation starter. picture this: guy/girl walks up to me: "hey what happened to ur shirt man? oh hi im ___. you are?" haha anything works i guess. afternoon was amazing race ard singapore. was actually looking forward to that - running ard singapore and accomplishing station tasks. we travelled from sch to kallang to sentosa to potong pasir and then to yishun. we did muay thai, silat, softball, dragonboat, touch rugby and superluge. we missed out on archery cos we arrived too late, haha. it ended with watching a Sleague game at yishun stadium. korean super red vs tampines rovers! how cool is that?? hahaha..

2nd day was sports clinic. in the morning we went to try handball, floorball, ultimate frisbee and smt else which i cant rmb? afternoon was playing of water games at the kallang basin pool. 2nd night was fun. we had this big buffet dinner at Ice Cold Beer, our smu on-campus pub! the buffet food was great plus the beer served! booze was gg ard cheap and everyone had loads to drink. so we all ended up pretty in a jovial mood which made for interaction easier and more at eased. we just played drinking games and made merry. after dinner was stage games, even more hilarious. and then it was back to more booze and drinking games till late into the night. for after party party, we went to arab street to chill out and smoke seesha(i dont know how u spell that). it was my first time la. but im still not a smoker! haha..

3rd day was just games ard campus. oh we this inflatable obstacle course in the middle of campus green which was rreally fun! haha imagine bouncing ard on that thing, amidst soapy water haha. played dodgeball too. all in all, we ended up really dirty, haha. the closing followed in the afternoon, with our facis dressed up as our characters. i forgot to mention my grp was He-man so the guy faci dressed up as He-man and the girl faci dressed up as the sabretooth tiger. after break camp it was off to home!

Thurs night went to crash NBS party, thanks to geri who got me tix. stayed out all the way till morning. slept the whole of friday and met the guys only in the evening to have dinner at suntec Soup restuarant. was out whole of sat with geri. went shopping ard town and had nice lunch and dinners, haha. sunday was our match against Scorchers at bukit timah field. we lost 5-2 again. so sian to keep losing. we were qt high when we took a surprise 2-1 lead, haha. but in the end we lost so heavily, haha. then at night i went to Huiyian's 21st bday party at minds cafe boat quay. qt a good idea, since everyone was entertained and having fun. the cake was delicious too! Secret Recipe's White Choc Macadamia Nuts cake! must try again!

That's abt what i've been doing for the past week. qt packed rite? haha this week i have nth much planned. im open to ideas! haha.

Genting with Geri

Just got back on friday evening from Genting. went there for a 3days2nights escapade with geri. we took the coach and the coach was really luxurious! it was like osim-like chairs which can recline all the way to provide a good rest. i heard an even better one had personal entertainment system ie movies on ur own screen. how cool is that!

Anyway the trip was really fun and we both enjoyed the cool weather the most. geri baby was very cold on the first day tho, kept saying she's gonna get hypothermia,haha. we spent our first day at the outdoor theme park after our lunch of claypot noodles and bak kut teh. we rode on the Thundermine, Cockscrew, Spaceshot, Antique car, Paddle boat, Swing and Go kart! i must say we had a lot of fun on the different rides. esp the Go kart! we were racing each other, haha, and in the end we bought the pictures to rmb the fun experience! =) Later in the evening we went to the indoor theme park where we rode the Adult Bumpercar many times! haha i didnt know my gf was a bumpercar addict until that night, haha. we also went on the Motion Master but that was largely disappointing.

The next day we went to the secret Prata place for breakfast before going bowling. turns out geri's not that bad at it! she managed to win me by 2 points after a 15points advantage by me,haha. lunch was at Ah Yat Abalone restaurant. haha lavish rite? actually it was just dim sum and i drank hell lot of tea. i was a bit embarrassed that the waiter had to keep filling my tea cup. after lunch we went back for a nap before gg to the casino. it was our first time and after checking out the sights and games, we decided to play Baccarat. and boy did we made a killing! lady luck was favouring us and we made qt a hefty profit. we were so happy when we left the casino during dinner time and i cldnt believe our luck. we earned almost enough to cover our past 2 days' spending! so to celebrate we went to Kenny Rogers for dinner. it was delicious! after dinner it was our movie, Harry Potter! yes, we watched Harry Potter in genting. how cool was that? haha..and we were sitting in the Premium Seats, haha.

After the movie we went back to the casino again but this time we only made a lil bit of profit. but at least it wasnt a loss! haha. den it was time to go back to the hotel to sleep and return to sg the next day. great trip with my baby! thanks to Lady Luck who made the trip even better..;)

Sat night was zz's bday party at Smrt club. was qt nice to meet up with the soccer peeps again. but pity only thia, kenbang, malai, albert and denzyl came. but still, great food and nice company!

Today was our match against Dunman team. we lost 6-2, haha. but i think we've improved qt a bit from the last time. javin played really well today, power of love haha. i think we need to work on the discipline of the defence and of cuz the centre mid. but i think the defence needs a stronger structure. the indiv players are good, but they lack the teamplay and structure. perhaps james, or myself can teach them a thing or 2 from what we learned from our jc experience. but i was happy with the display today la. played qt well at the start of both halves, esp the 2nd. i seriously believe we cld have got an equaliser when it was at 3-2. i cld have scored more i guess. we got another match to look forward to next sunday.

But for now, its Sports Camp!! haha..

Matriculation

Went to smu early this morning for matriculation. qt an eventful day i must say. i thot i wld be done in a couple of hours max but boy, i arrived at 10plus and only finished at 3! thats cos i did almost everything. went to every station, every talk and configured my laptop as well. i must say the guy at the CIT helpdesk is very helpful and friendly. was chatting with him and learnt qt a bit. gotta thank him for installing microsoft office for me and also the VPN so i can access smu network from home. was so afraid my vista may have prob. but actually, i havent really tried at home so i also dont know.

Signed up for sports camp too. from 17th to 19th jul if im not wrong. den Run3 of the teambuilding camp which is from 30th jul to 1st aug. last camp is law camp which is ard 16th aug. im qt glad the camps are pretty spread out and are only 3 days long. just nice la, if not too shag.

Qt glad i chose smu law in the end. guess javin really made a lot of sense ytd when i talked to him. both of my choices are good choices so i just have to choose 1 good one. and i guess law by itself, anywhere, has qt good prospects alr. what matters now is my grades and the law firm i go to in the future. plus, i made plans to save up this money for now and use it for my masters in future. yay!

Im a happier boy now! and im at spinelli china sq central with my lap and the Ice tea of the day, haha. gonna play FM now! i told u i love chilling out, haha.

It's a crazy world out there

Woke up today feeling bored as usual. decide to take my laptop out into the dining room to use and chill while having breakfast(during lunch hr). was surfing ard BBC reading abt news ard the world and i realise, it's a crazy world out there! haha, so much happening all over the world, from london to the US, to mexico. and singapore seemed so boring once again. even the 2 back to back murders seemed to pale in comparison when next to Alan Johnston's release at the Gaza strip or the hoardes of fans who crammed leicester sq and braved torrential rain in london just to see their idol, daniel radcliffe, more affectionately known as harry potter. its kinda funny how i look out of my window and tried to picture all those happening just outside. but all i see is strong sunshine on the trees outside and all i hear are birds chirping. how serene aint it? its boring! haha i get to see more through this 14inch monitor in front of me, lol.

Well, if u havent already noticed, im just updating this blog for fun with no real objectives whatsoever. anyway im gonna just chill the rest of the day away. prob go for a swim in the afternoon. hopefully the sun will still be good. not only for me, but for my friend, javin, who is having his "dream date" at ECP now, haha! hopefully, nth goes wrong for my plans as well, which is to eat at Waraku for dinner and watch transformers later in the night! hm, if u guys are free, do check out this nice and delicious blog: she bakes and she cooks. i love this blog. go and see and u will know why i say its delicious! =)

Mom's bday & ECP outing

Celebrated mom's bday on saturday at crystal jade golden palace restaurant at paragon. her actual bday's on 28th june, this coming thurs but we're celebrating early cos she's gg genting on wed till sunday! dinner was qt good, and nice to see everyone together again. the restaurant we went to was qt good. the food was good, and the service is not bad too. its supposed to be qt high class and indeed it was. the price also very high class lor, haha. with the most exp set meal costing $1888 for 10 ppl! my family's really getting qt big! with both my brothers having 2 kids each. so fast rite? im an uncle of 4 alr..3 nieces and 1 nephew!

Went to ECP on monday afternoon. we had a "picnic" and den bladed. it was qt a cloudy day and it threatened to rain on many occasions! luckily, it did not, so geri and i were able to have a good time without it being too hot. we bought subway, chips and drinks and dat was our picnic! was nice and relaxing..=)

Started blading at abt 5pm..there were some changes at the rental shops at ECP but the one we patronised was not bad, tho it wasnt the one we used to go last time. and geri was being all scared and nervous abt blading again, haha! last time we bladed was 1 year ago! but honestly, she's qt good now! at least it didnt take her long to start blading by herself alr. luckily she didnt return all that i taught her a year ago. well done dear! she was doing so well but still fell once towards the end, haha..& i felt really bad cos that time i was just skating ahead by myself and she fell behind..sorry dear!

After we were done at ECP, we took bus 16 to katong to have katong laksa! super shiok man! haha..katong laksa and the otah in katong! yum yum..=)

Haha, above are my 2 nieces. one in traditional vietnamnese costume complete with hat while the other with what appears to be jap costume? haha i dont know. but the vietnamnese one damn cute rite? she looks so viet with her very jet black hair..

I think its time this blog needs an update! havent updated for a week cos nth much has been going on. currently still slacking. kinda looking for a part time job but pretty much still at square 1. im beginning to think that i just like the idea of looking thru the Straits Times Classified everyday "pretending" im looking for a job. hahaha what a joke!

An amazing thing today...on a monday morning, we actually played soccer! yes, sunday soccer was held on a monday. well its cos it was raining ytd. surprisingly enough, there were enough ppl avail today to play. we had 3 teams man, not bad, very self-sustaining and self-sufficient. when john and i stepped into the court, there were like what, 8 or 9 ppl standing/sitting/lounging ard 1 corner and staring at us with the "urh...i dont know if im supposed to be here but he called me" look on their faces. i thot it was exactly like Oceans Eleven when the crew was put together for the first time. the weirdest combi, haha. but guess like the movie, we were all pros. soccer was great today! had a good time playing. denzyl and ga came too. and we got to see how good this student of john was. he's a real gem of a player. great prospects man, haha.

Hmm, thats all i have to say for now i guess...Hmm(again)..

Baby's Bday!

Ytd was Geri baby's bday! and also our 2nd year together! we spent the whole day together and i planned it all! first up was lunch where i invited beccas and ruth to surprise her with lunch together. we went to nydc at wheelock for lunch. geri was totally caught off guard, totally didnt suspect anything..well done! haha..=)

After lunch we went to vivo GV to catch Shrek 3 and after that it was dinner! brought her to Sky Dining at Mt Faber. for those who dont know, its having dinner onboard the cable car which will go to sentosa and back. the sunset view was very beautiful and it was really romantic to have just 2 of us in the whole cabin. it was a really private dinner and the food was great as well! we both enjoyed ourselves tremendously! only down side was we cldnt relax for another round to slowly enjoy our tea and take in the night view and talk...but still, it was a lovely dinner with my precious...=)

Bangkok Trip May 07

Went to bangkok on sunday morning and came back wednesday noon time. super fun trip! i totally enjoyed myself and had a lovely time, esp with my darling gf! it was great to be able to get away to another country and spend time together. our whole trip was basically a shopping trip and we shopped from morning till night every single day! from shopping centres like MBK to markets like chatuchak weekend market. we walked until our thighs and hamstrings were so sore, haha. luckily we had a massage on the last night. shiok!

Well, those are some pics from my bangkok trip. had a fantastic time. 4 days really passed by so quickly! still feels like it was only ytd that we were at the weekend market. a really fruitful trip and we enjoyed ourselves very much. guess that's whats most impt. i hope to do this again soon! haha..

Well, its a 1 day break for me tml and then its off to Vietnam, Saigon on friday! will be missing sunday soccer and the IT fair. cos i will only be back on monday. hopefully this vietnam trip will be fun too! i will miss you dear! =)

Hat trick

Field soccer today afternoon at fuhua sec sch. i dont really know who we were against but we won 4-2 in the end. i think we played qt well. im glad we got out there and proved a point to ourselves. im sorry tho that i felt disappointed towards the end when i felt that my team mates were not pulling their weight or being complacent. i just cant stand it when ppl give up so easily and not fight for smt back. but i shld not have chided them cos they have already put in so much efforts at the beginning. i guess i let that moment get the better of me. but overall, im satisfied with our play. just that we have to improve one thing, which is our fighting spirit towards the end of the game. twice already we have let our opponents stage a mini come back towards the end of the game. like what shiyuan cheekily told me just now when we conceded our first goal: "the nightmare is starting again". it was a poke at what happened the other time when we were 4-0 up and then in the last 15mins we concede 3 to become 4-3.

But overall, i felt that we had a good game la. just some mistakes and gay goals. they were pretty foolish and glaring, so i guess that was why i was qt pissed towards the end. but now, i wld like to say that i was really proud of my team mates for playing well for most of the game. we "got out there and proved a point". im looking forward to more field games soon!

Jetting off to bangkok tml for my 4 days thailand shopping trip with geri n family. then i'll be back on wed, prob mambo den rest on thurs before im off to vietnam on friday with my family. looking forward to both trips! =)

Tornado at home!

OMG!! did u guys watch the news?? i saw smt amazing that i nv thot i cld see in singapore. its called water sprout, but to me it looks like a tornado! just off the coast of singapore, at east coast! well apparently it happens a few times a year, but still, im amazed! i just gotta blog it here, haha!

Cool rite?? totally amazing lor. what a pity i cldnt see it in person. and i wonder what it feels like to be near it or inside it! apparently its a narrow water column from the water surface to the base of the cloud. how cool is that man? i wonder if any of my friends saw it in person. haha..im so excited by it. lol.. Priceless

Went to town on tues afternoon with geri and we caught Priceless. it's a french movie (called Hors de Prix) starring Audrey Tautou. i wld say its a romantic comedy. and geri and i enjoyed it! its very french i guess, very laid back haha. i like the luxurious settings and beautiful scenes from the coastal french towns where the movie was filmed. i think it was ard Marseilles and Nice area. after the movie, geri and i went to have dinner at the HK cafe at cine. hmm it's better than the first time i've been there..=)

Ytd was an action packed day! haha, met up with eugene, john and mike for tennis and bowling at eugene's place. first we had ajisen ramen at Lot1, then we took a cab over to eugene's. we bowled for an hour first. and we had smt like a competition. we each combined the scores for 2 games and then the bottom 2 scorers will treat the top2 scorers. haha i topped the charts of cuz, hehe. funny thing was that eugene was in the bottom 2! haha he and john were fiercely competing. in the end, eugene and mike had to buy john and i drinks. and thanks mike, who bought us mineral water. haha.

Then it was off to tennis. the sun was pretty good by then. and john had to put sunscreen on his face until he looked like a ghost! haha too much again la john. i was laughing so hard man, lol. too bad the pic is with eugene, if not i will post it up here. tennis was fun! but it took me and john qt a while to get used to it. mike and eugene were more experienced at it. and eugene thot i was lousy cos he chose john at a partner when we played doubles. but then i made him regret cos i was qt "on form" after that! haha in the end, mike and i won! hehe...

Was super tired at the end of the day. but it was fun i wld say. bowled and also tried out tennis. we must do it again some time. and hopefully more sun next time! haha...

Thursday to Sunday

Just a quick update on the last few days. Went shopping with geri on thursday at bugis and town area. didnt buy much in the end. only got myeslf a pair of berms and geri got her french manicure! i think its nice..i chose it for her! haha..we slacked at Wisma Starbucks after that. we were both pretty tired. it was qt nice to just slack at starbucks, with our fav drinks and to just talk, take photos and laugh at each other, haha.

Went to have my eye check up at the National Eye Center on friday morning. it was qt speedy to my surprise. i expected to wait for like an hour till my turn, but i got checked after 5 mins? i didnt even have time to read the archie comic that i brought along. well, doc says im 98-99% recovered. and im discharged! well thats good news i guess. i also enquired abt lasik surgery. prob an option in the future!

It was off to SMU tea reception in the afternoon for their new law sch. well it was pretty informative and the professors and guest speakers are really good. but i thot the reception after was too small and the area over crowding. so i left early and didnt even touch the food, haha.

Stayed in on friday evening at geri's. we ordered pizza in and watched a dvd which i rented called "Accepted". it's abt this guy who got rejected from every college he applied to. with no place to go, and his parents putting pressure on him, he decided to start a bogus college with a few of his friends. it turned out to be such a hit that more ppl starting joining and soon things were made complicated until it was finally resolved. qt a funn movie but somewhat unrealistic la. but it was pretty entertaining. =) Drove geri to smu's icecoldbeer after that. i love driving! haha..but petrol's expensive, lol.

Went out for lunch with geri on sat and then went to play pool at btp. saw thor there and diana came to look for them later. was qt fun, and luckily no accidents concerning unauthorised flying balls, hehe. met up with my family after pool for family dinner while geri went for her mahjong session. had dinner at Botan which is this jap restaurant at far east sq area. i totally love that place! then it was off to FA cup finals at john's with the guys. i was so excited abt it! i was listening to BBC the whole time and they went on and on abt the Wembley stadium. i mean it was live from there and i cldnt help but feel the excitement as i was driving, haha. well the match was actually qt boring in the first half, tho it got better in the second. but was really sad that man utd lost when i felt they have been better! what a fluke goal la. i hate drogba!

Sunday soccer was great! i was pretty pysched up for it cos of man utd's lost last nite. well i had a great time playing ytd. i absolutely loved my first goal. it was against eugene and it was a lob over the keeper haha! i was thru on goal with only eugene to beat. as usual he came out at me and sprawled across the goal. i dont know what came into me, i just instinctively stopped the ball and then lobbed the ball over him. it was just the right height and went into the goal. everyone cldnt believe what i just did. i just went berserk and the first thing that i said was "Did anybody see that??" hahaha..well more goals from me today. im happy with that. my team was on a high la, haha..and mike scored this one goal i rmb, that capped a wonderful team performance, haha. and i celebrated all my goals with the drogba celebration. for the fun of it, hahaha.

Good news! My eldest sisinlaw has given birth to another little angel! its my eldest bro's 2nd child, and its a baby girl! she came into this world monday night, 14th may 07. mom and i went to the hospital to see them on tues night. and she was very cute! i even managed to catch her with her eyes open! thats qt a rare sight for newborns! i was jokingly telling my mom i shld have dressed up better that night cos i must give her a very good first impression of me, haha. i think my bro and sisinlaw's gonna name her Olivia if im not wrong. i was qt surprised at this unique name. i like it cos its qt shakespeare, haha. n grease too! hahaha.

Anyway its my eldest niece's bday today! she's 4 this yr! and very cute, pretty and smart! we all at home love her to bits. tho she can get qt stubborn n naughty at times. so we celebrated her bday for her at home today. mom prepared a nice dinner with her fav food and den we had a cake after that. her dad bought her a huge present too! and she loved it. =)

Lights, Camera, Action!

First of all, a big thank you to my friends who have left tags here to wish me well soon. well, i havent blogged abt it but i was actually suffering from a scratched cornea since sat. it was so bad and painful that i went to see the doc at the clinic outside my house, only to be referred to the hospital. so dad drove me down to SGH A&E and i spent a total of 2.5hrs waiting before i was done. saw the duty eye doctor and was relieved to be told that it wasnt as serious as expected. and that i just needed a few days to recover. but i cant wear contacts for the next 2-3 weeks. it was qt scary at first cos my eye was super painful as i was waiting and i just kept tearing and nose running. not to mention the clinic doc told me i was in qt serious condition and i cld be permanently blind. that was the first thing the eye doctor said to me as well. but thankfully, after a thorough examination, it was concluded that my cornea suffered from scratches and will take only a few days to recover. it was caused by my contact lense wear. gotta be more careful in future. to all contact lense users, its really true that u gotta wash ur lenses everyday even if u dun wear them. and ur eyes are more fragile and precious than u ever gave them credit for. so pls protect them! i learnt my lesson well man. (esp javin, dun always continue wearing even when ur eyes are super red!)

well, cos of my eye injury, i missed the match on sunday. it was the guys VS scorchers. haha it wasnt a good match, we lost 5-0. heard it was due to gay goals and lack of match experience. pity i didnt play. i was looking forward to it cos i've got many good friends on both teams!
Monday was pretty fun. the 5 of us from altitude went over to mike's place to take passport sized photos and some group shots. mike wanted to try shooting his own passport size pics so he asked whether we were interested. im glad we went. cos it was pretty fun! and best of all, free! haha..funny thing was that we all brought out laptops and we started trading videos, musics and playing FM, lol. and of cuz we played winning as well. this time eugene dominated, but tyco lor, haha. but the pics turned out very well actually. really glad we went for it. qt cool doing it at mike's place. nv had such an experience before. initially, we kept saying it felt like we were shooting some porn movie, cos the set up was so amateurish and low budget, hahaha! but good job mike!

Geri came over very early today morning cos i was cooking breakfast for her! we were supposed to eat at the poolside but a pity it was raining this morning. so we had to make do at home. im glad she enjoyed my lovely delicious breakfast nonetheless! =) btw i really enjoy cooking! haha..

China Trip - Day 3

China Trip - Day 3 (Shanghai proper!)

Got up to another bright and early day..Today we're exploring Shanghai proper! and we were honoured to have mike bring us around, haha. look at him all dressed up man! took a train from the Shanghai Science Museum station(nearest to mike's place) to Nanjing Road shopping district. First up was brunch! had Da Niang Shui Jiao where we had dumplings. james and i each had this giant pork knuckle with glass noodles, haha. looks qt gross rite? haha n i had soya bean. funny thing was that it had no taste and they told me it was sweetened alr. guess they like it that way, not like our singapore's super sweet soya bean milk.

Went to the Wai Tan in the late afternoon. This place rocks! haha. super windy and the sun was so shiok. super crowded too. cos everyone was here to see shanghai tan and the famous Oriental Pearl Tower. didnt get the chance to go up tho cos there was no time. its actually that slim tower u see in the pics below.

We had an early dinner cos det and i had a train to catch. we were going to beijing that night. dinner was at a fancy italian restaurant that wasnt too ex. food was qt good too! tho the service cld have been better. but seriously, the food was damn cheap la, haha...

And so, that concludes our day in Shanghai, and Det and I are off to beijing on an over night train! Keep checking for our Beijing trip!

China Trip - Day 2

China Trip - Day 2 (Hangzhou)

Woke up bright and early the next morning and it was time to leave for our day trip to hangzhou. As mike violently refuses to join us, it was just 3 of us taking this trip. we took a cab to shanghai south train station and asked for tickets to hangzhou. and the guy at the counter told us it departs in 5 minutes, so we quickly paid and started running towards the platform. was super funny as we ran. was just like amazing race, haha. but in the end cos we ran so fast, we were early, so we had time to take pics ard the station, haha! the train ride was pretty fast, just abt 2 hrs to reach hangzhou. as u can see from above, james n detong very hard at work, duno doing what while i enjoyed my sausage n relaxed, haha.

Welcome to Hangzhou! the above pic is taken at the famous West Lake. magnificent isnt it? well, the 3 of us signed up for this day tour on board the train so they'll take us ard the sights of hangzhou for a day. first stop was west lake where the view was just so beautiful. we had a boat ride to this man made island within the lake. (below)

Next stop was Yue4 Wang2 Miao4 which stands for Temple of Yue Fei. Yue Fei was this warrior who was super loyal to his country. he died after this 4 ppl betrayed him. this temple was built in his honour. it was also his tomb. the 4 traitor's sculptures are also inside and it is frequently spitted on by Yue Fei loyals. After the temple, we went to the silk production factory. we saw how silk was harvested from silk worms and got to know the fantastic properties of silk. super shiok to touch man! haha. cant resist but take a pic of the chinese (silk) bras..kinky~ =p (below)

Next stop is this themed park called Song4 Cheng2, meaning Song Dynasty. the themed park was modelled after the Song dynasty. we were supposed to eat there but we cldnt resist but end up playing the whole time there. there was just too much to do besides eating! det and i played dress up, den we went to shoot traditional chinese arrows and den watched ppl get dunked into the water, haha.

Presenting...Emperor Ryan and General Detty! Emperor Ryan china ruled from 19th April 07 to 19th April 07. Under his reign, nothing much changed cos there was just no time. his most favourite(or rather only) concubine was Lady Geri who cldnt reach the capital in time for his coronation. General Detty was Emperor Ryan's closest friend and despite his specs, he is known to be a fierce warrior during battle. his famous fallen enemies include ants and cockroaches. hahaha!

After playing so much at Song Cheng, we went to the tea house next, to taste Hangzhou's second most famous export besides silk - Long2 Jing3 Cha2. its actually green tea. was qt funny cos we all had free samples to try but in the end, nobody bought anything! and the woman was so pissed cos ppl just finished their drink and started leaving. was pretty rude of them, but that lady's pissed face was funniest! its the lady in the pic above. after the tea hse we went to this other shrine to see the monument of this deity. its something like the temple of Fate. so those who are able to come to this temple together have Fate, like james, detong and me! the below pic is taken with the word Yuan2, meaning Fate. at the shrine, all 3 of us had our fortunes read. mine was abt love and it was a good sign! it said to get married asap! hahaha! i liked it nonetheless, haha.

We got back to shanghai ard 9plus in the night and as the night was still young, we decided not to waste time gg back to mike's. instead, 3 of us headed over to Xin Tian Di, a place like clarke quay in singapore. it was where the nightlife was. the pubs and bars were so cool!! there were so many to choose from, along with starbucks and coffeebean. there was also a mall there with a club n cinema. the cinema's pretty cool. it has lady's night. meaning a girl can go for free on wed nights if an accompanying guy pays for his ticket. and i realised my dream of drinking beer outdoors at a cold country! haha..we settled at some pub along the street which has an outdoor drinking area. was so cool la..even after some time the bottle of beer was still cold! c'est magnifique!

China Trip - Day 1

China Trip - Day 1

China trip started the morning of 17th April 07 at the Singapore Changi Airport. Bro and mom came to the airport to send me off. we were early but was still surprised when the China Eastern Airlines counter had no queue! usually, there wld be a lot of china ppl queuing up and cutting queue! so after checking in, we had a nice bk breakfast before i entered the departure hall. i bought the wine for mike's parents and the United mag cos i expect the plane trip to be pretty boring. well actually, the flight was super boring! there were no movies; the place where the screen wld normally be had a chinese painting in its place! n i still thot "wah so hi-tech, later the painting will become a lcd screen?" haha..and guess what was the in-flight entertainment? it was a Q&A session abt facts on china hosted by the air stewardess!! i almost died la. what a joke. really budget man haha. the in-flight meal was qt crap too. the chicken i ordered looked like it came out of a can of dog food.(below) the whole trip was =s la, except that i had the Straits Times for company.

Arrived at Shanghai, Pudong Intl Airport ard 3plus in the afternoon. it was a rainy day in shanghai! met up with mike(our host) and det & James(they were on an earlier flight). luckily mike brought me an extra jacket cos it was qt cold that day. dun think any of our next 6 days were as cold as the first. we had "smoke" coming out of our mouth as we breathed and talked! how cool is that? we were all super excited by that. not to mention the rain that came down felt like ice water, haha. we took the Magnetic Levitation Train to a connecting train station, after which we cabbed over to mike's place. the Mag Lev train is super cool. apparently it "hovers" above the track, "binds" onto the track via magnetic force, thus cutting our friction and voilah, top speed was 431km/h! faster than the bullet train in japan i think!

Reached Mike's place(Ding xiang lu, jin xiu lu) ard late afternoon. greeted his mom, who was preparing great Jiaozi and dumplings for us! i just love his mom's jiaozi and dumplings soups! part of the reason i went man, haha! well, we settled down, awed at his house, ate the delicious food and went for a walk in his estate. it was really a big estate and the clubhse rocks la! it has almost everything! from billiard room, to private movie room, indoor swimming complex, its own library with librarian, large children's playgrd, supermarket, hair salon, badminton courts, squash courts, table tennis courts, music room, tuition room and super duper cool gym! the treadmills all have lcd TVs attached la, with cable channels like ESPN n HBO!! cool or what?

After dinner, sumptious n prepared by mike's mom, we walked over to this place called "Da Mu Zi" which literally means Big Thumb in chinese. its like a mini shopping area for the ppl in this neighbourhood. walked distance. it had restaurants, a Carrefour and a nike factory outlet. at Carrefour, we bought our fav sausages, chewing gums and snacks for our hangzhou trip the next day. wanted to check out the nike outlet but it wasnt opened yet. so we went back home. it was till raining and super cold. Back at mike's place, we had to do what we love to do..which is...Winning Eleven! haha, yes, even in shanghai china, some things nv change. we started mucking ard, playing winning, gg online and finalising our plans for hangzhou n beijing. and we anyhow took pic of mike changing..hahaha! it was just fun hanging out with ur good friends at a foreign land! lotsa mucking ard!

23rd mth!

Wednesday, 9th May was our 23rd mth anniversary! met up with geri ard 3pm for sakae buffet. this girl had everything planned out for us already...sakae buffet, spiderman3 den mambo! sakae buffet was super shiok! haha, its been a long time since both of us had so much to eat. haha was fun eating till our heart's content and having fun with each other at sakae wheelock. we were like trying to hide the rice and also our faces when we ate too much wasabi, haha.
Watched spiderman3 after that at PS with our movie vouchers! it was a super long movie man! took us all the way till 930pm cos we watched the 650pm show. i thot spiderman3 wasnt as nice as the first 2, cos of the obvious lack of action. felt that it was qt draggy at some parts. more on the emotional play i guess. but still, spiderman3 still ranks as a must-watch! cos everyone's watched it alr! haha! except maybe eugene..oops!
Took a bus down to Zouk after the movie and met up with john, eugene and mike there. i was trying to guess with geri what the guys wld be wearing. haha i was right with john(long sleeve shirt) and with eugene(that unique jeans) but i knew mike was trickier to guess. but what he wore was a blast man, cos i nv expected it...a hat!! haha cool stuff..he looked so korean, i cldnt help but greeted him in korean when we met, lol. After we got our tickets, we went over to the coffeeshop to chill. had beer and peach vodka. and boy, were we in a jovial mood after that, haha. after we had enough of booze and bread(yeah!), we headed into zouk to party the night away. future was crowded as usual, and mambo just rocks! haha its been so long since i mambo-ed that i kinda forgot some moves. it was a fun night, tho mike and eugene left pretty early leaving geri and me by ourselves. cos john was MIA-ing some where else, haha.

Woke up late the next day and went to vivo city with geri. had Carl's Jr! haha...havent ate it for qt some time too. was a super full meal so we went shopping after that to burn away the calories. spent a long time at forever21 but geri only bought 1 top in the end, haha. but it was a very nice top! an orangey top =) walked ard some more looking for her black skinny jeans before deciding we were too tired to continue. so we bought some Boost Juice and headed to the promenade to chill and rest before heading home. so that was our 2 days worth of 23rd mth anni for u, haha...

Another update from me in 3 days! guys, im really on a roll! haha eugene was telling me how i always up the anticipation when i come back with one entry, leave ppl expecting more, then i disappoint by gg on another long hiatus, haha!

Anyway, wanna blog abt last night's night in with the guys. we met like 3 times in the last 3 days la. but ytd was to celebrate mike's bday. javin just called us all up late afternoon and tadah, everyone turned up pronto. we just crashed into mike's playing winning eleven, with chips and drinks, bday cake and booze! haha really great to have such a close group of guy friends. and i figured out how to outwit my FM man! good job guys. and guess what? by some fluke, or brilliant play, i got into our winning eleven league finals! lol..faced john with his man utd, me with my arsenal. the henry show, haha. was really chummed cos normally its det vs mike in the finals. but i beat mike on penalties and john beat det in the semis. was a close game with john, but in the end he won by a scrappy goal, so i got second, damn! haha...

Whole night was really funny cos we were into FM mood full gear. guess there's too many of us being full time managers. we kept using FM phrases as we talk. like before eugene and my game, we wld say "May the best manager win" and "wont begrudge a victory". those are comments that we can use as managers in FM, haha! was just super funny!

Hope mike had a great bday thing ytd. with winning eleven, drinks, food, cake, and his command n conquer! happy 22nd~

Gonna play FM today and den hit the gym. meeting geri for dinner tonight! oh and mambo to look forward to tml! the guys are gg too, hope they dun ps, haha!

Soccer this morning with the guys at marvin's court. i slept qt early ytd so i felt sufficiently fresh for a good day of soccer this morning. when i reached the court, i realised there were qt a lot of ppl today. so ended up waiting qt long. it was a slow start for me, being in different teams and not winning at all! was getting impatient to score and win games. it finally happened during the game which took like super long to finish. the keepers both side, birdie and eugene, were in god mode la. match took freaking long cos both are determined not to concede. the strikers, including myself, were getting vexed from not scoring despite shooting so much man. not to mention the hot sun, haha. finally i broke the deadlock by a low shot towards birdie. didnt expect that to go in, but i guess everyone is glad, haha. scored 2 more after that and we were on a run! haha..was fun afterall. =) and mike's dad came to join us today. he's really damn good man. still rmb his stand on the ball, pretend to wanna pass right, then quickly sprint left and a left foot strike to the opposite side of goal. it left ivan for dead, and eugene stood no chance in goal. everyone was shocked. and impressed. good job there uncle! now lets see ur son do that, heh heh =P

Watched 200 pounds beauty with baby at westmall today too. the show was great man! really enjoyed it. was so funny, and so touching in the end! i actually cried too! but geri cried more! haha, i thot she wldnt stop, lolx. =p but really, u guys shld go catch it before it finishes! kinda thought provoking too, cos it was abt plastic surgery. what i feel is that its okay, but then again, will it really heal the scars emotionally? for someone who suffered from low self esteem for 18 yrs of ur life. sometimes, its too hard to move on no matter how hard u try. haha i wonder if my baby will go under the knife, haha! well ladies and gentleman, just watch the movie cos its really entertaining!

Quick Update!

Quick update here! went to shanghai for 6 days abt 2 week backs. have been wanting to blog abt it but i've just been busy going back to work! it was really sucky having to go back to work after such a well taken break. really loved the shanghai trip! anyway, guess what? im jobless now! haha, finally resigned from my previous job. spent a total 6 months at Heraeus la. it was a good experience la, it being an MNC really provided me with global perspective. learnt a lot regarding businesses and accounting.

Anyway today was marvin's 21st bday celebrations at Sakura science center. yes, he treated all his friends to sakura buffet. haha, being the pros, the guys and i were dominating the buffet line man. haha, we just knew which food to go for etc. as eugene puts it, we're the "trained ones" haha.

But bad luck ensued for me after, cos as i was going to town to meet geri, i realised my eye got very painful. after a visit to the optometrist, he concluded that i have eroded my cornea. so he recommended me to go contact-less for the next 4-5 days if not i will have abrasion on my cornea which is much more serious! so for the rest of the day my eye hurt like hell, kept tearing, which caused my mucus to run like tap plus getting my eyelids swollen and having blurred vision! thankfully, my baby was kind enough to accompany me home to spend our sat evening having pizza and watching the man utd game! my gf rocks my socks off! haha..she came up with that line herself haha. anyway, man utd won the derby! man city had a last min penalty but van der sar saved it man! so happy la, kept shouting, haha.

Anyway, geri baby left to join her friends at Hard Rock and then another group of friends at Cafe Iguana. was saying that she's like a social butterfly. keep having to go different clubs to meet different groups of friends. well, thats my baby for you, haha. a pity i cldnt join her cos of the condition of my eye. well, at least im gonna stay home to play FM! haha, did i mention? im a full-time manager now, hehe.

Last but not least, geri says her bf rocks her knickers off her ass! hahaha...actually, nah she didnt say that..lol.

Malaysia trip - Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands...

Within Malacca. As can be seen, it's still a very laidback town with a rustic feel. we arrived at malacca ard 8am to visit the temple becos it was "Guanyin Festival".

Excellent view from our hotel room - Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and medeka stadium! Wing Wong is this noodle place along the alley behind our hotel. we nv fail to eat there each time we go to KL!

Drove up to Genting after checking into our hotel in KL. Spent the afternoon at genting where my nieces enjoyed the rides! the little boy above is my niece's new friend met at Genting haha! n we had my all-time fav Starbucks caramel macchiato!

Watching the butcher cut up roasted pork for us - very traditional! ; using KL's new mrt system. somewhat complicated and a little troublesome at line intersections actually ; check out their traffic light, green man is actually a walking animation while our "flashing green man" is a running animation. very amusing haha!

We were there during F1 fever! the whole city was just geared up for F1 action at the Sepang Circuit. too bad we decided not to go. cos we rather watch it on tv, where we cld see action from the whole circuit, haha! pity ferrari didnt do too well, despite massa taking pole! :(

Im still revelling in man utd's victory last night in the champion's league quarter finals. the red devils romped over roma in a 7-1 win, aggregate 8-3. who wld have expected a result like this? the entire soccer world is still talking abt it. really unbelieveable. i woke up to catch the game in the wee hours of the morning but i was late! by the time i turned on the tv it was alr 2nd half and ronaldo just scored man utd's 5th goal and his second! but still, i was treated to a fantastic display of football for the next 40mins. i am super thrilled by their victory!

Just came back from the Good Friday long weekend, which i spent in KL with my family! my dad, my mom, my brother n his family and myself all drove up to KL for the weekend. and im proud to say that i did all the driving in my dad's car! it was my first time driving in m'sia, and i was really looking forward to the experience. cos i know that the traffic there is much more crazy, hectic and the motorcycles are a real menace zipping abt, not caring abt their own safety(think cutting into ur blind spot as u turn). but guess what? my MCC, "msia conversion course", came at full blown and i passed! haha...drove on the north south highway thru day n night, drove in Melacca, KL and even up and down Genting Highlands at night! i really experienced all the different types of driving in msia. the traffic there is really crazy and dangerous. once, along the road, we witnessed a piled up carnage of not 1, not 2, not 5, not 10, but 14 cars!! can u believe it?? 14 cars smashed back to back. thank goodness i was not caught in between!

Well, back to work these few days. and the 3 of us - James, detong and myself, are finalising our plans for our shanghai trip next week. we'll be leaving on the 17th, and coming back on the 23rd. gonna stay at mike's place in shanghai. we're gonna tour shanghai city and also hangzhou and xitang. and i think we'll most prob take a train up to beijing too, cos i just have to see the Forbidden City!! a place of so many stories and so much history. i just cant wait to get inside those 10m high walls! i wanna feel for myself what it was like to live behind those walls in the past. hope it will be great! im just so excited abt it! but a lot of things have to be coordinated and worked out, mostly transportation. we have to see the train schedules and really plan our route carefully so as to maximise the time we have for sightseeing. i really hope our plan works out, tho i know by cant-rmb-who's law, something will always go wrong, haha. speaking of which, i wonder how mike and javin's japan trip is working out. they're almost due home(this coming fri).

Dinner with geri baby on monday, 9th april, which was our 22nd mth together! we went to nydc wheelock place for dinner, then walked ard town before heading home to watch After Hours and Desperate Housewives! we're tv junkies, haha!

Jane's wedding n Dot's 21st party

Time now is 215am on a saturday night..just came back from a long day out. started bright and early this morning, gg over to my uncle's hse at hume park for my beloved cousin jane's wedding! yups, she's getting married alr! actually, she is already married! haha..First in the morning was the tea ceremony at her home, then we had lunch and the relatives just kept talking and talking! i was just there reading the papers and then i got to the Classified section. i kept gg thru all the jobs in there. it was really interesting to see all the different firms hiring ppl for different jobs. and i was cheekily looking at all the accounting relating jobs dat i qualified for. there was actually 1! haha..plus i kept pointing out finance manager n senior accountant ads for my sisinlaw. self entertainment i guess, haha. After that i just got bored and fell asleep cos i was tired as well.

Jane's church wedding ceremony was at 3pm at St Theresa church. was a simple affair(basically the wedding thing was kept simple. good job. :) ). i didnt know the groom, vyncen, was a non christian until today. i was surprised, cos i always thot he was a christian too. kudos to him for going along with jane for a church wedding. after the ceremony and a lil photo-taking we proceeded for refreshments cum dinner. and this was where i was made fed up. it was the buffet line and the aunties rushing for all the food. i was there trying to queue up while the aunties were like crowding ard the buffet table and grabbing food as tho their lives depended on it. i was disgusted man. to be honest, i always thot church-going folks were cultured and well behaved, a manner of class to them. but what i experienced today made me realised that its just singaporeans? or our human nature to be like this. esp the older generation. today's folks just reminds me of those aunties and uncles rushing to board the ferry to the casino on the sea. what a disappointment in these church-going folks' behavior.

After we're all done with the refreshment cum dinner, we headed home and i took a short rest before driving over to dorothy's hse for her 21st bday party. i nv expected to get to use the car. cos i normally dun get it on weekends. just nice that my parents decide they wont be using it tonight. so i drove over, tho dot's hse is very near to mine. it was definitely much more convenient than to take a bus n then walk qt far in. met up with jc classmates there. it was great to see them again! had lots to talk abt and catch up on. felt a lil "behind-time" when the girls started talking abt uni stuff - job attachments, overseas exchange, this business club, that investment society, etc. guess some of the guys felt the same? i mean, its like we're being excited over "matriculation" n the girls will be like laughing at us being excited abt something they've gone thru almost 2 yrs ago. nv thot i wld feel this semi-"discrimination" haha. anw things r really diff and we've all grown up yeah? now we talk abt starting salaries, n what cars we drove to the party! hahaha...

After the party, a few of us guys proceeded to Al Azhar for supper and chit chat session. daniel drove too and followed behind me. he horned me from behind for fun and what i did in return was to wind down the window and point the middle finger back at them, haha! road rage! Anyway we were at azhar for almost 2 hrs, talking abt almost everything! we talked mostly abt uni and investments that dennis was doing. it was really intellectual stuff gg round the table. i guess that's the thing abt being from hwachong? we tend to talk abt stuff like dat, and thats actually normal too, haha. i was really interested in what dennis had to say abt his investment experience. i wanna start soon too! been wanting to do so for qt some time alr. guess i will learn from him and start reading up too. learnt qt a lot from just now alr. good job dude! after talking for so long at azhar, we decided to foot the bill and leave. but guess what? we reached the carpark and we started talking again! like really chat chat? talked abt duno what till we digressed to abortions n when we wanna get married and what will we do if we had children with down-syndrome etc. super funny to see 5 guys stand in a circle in a carpark n talking. looked kinda suspicious huh? haha..But of cuz, we left la, after abt 15mins, cos daniel had to go home. the guy has church tml! so we left and i sent chuan wei n robin home.

Speaking of chuan wei, do u know this guy's crazy?? he freaking retook his As last yr man!! as a private candidate!! and now he got 4As!! lolx, crazy shit! improved from his previous results of 2As, 2Bs man. really cant believe he actually went thru all the trouble of studying again and actually achieving even better results. really gotta take my hat off to him man. guys, this story is just crazily amazing. haha..

Hey there again! i know i promised a "come back" entry, but i've just been so lazy! haha..whats new rite? plus all the free time i get at home, i just watch Prisonbreak! i just started with season 1, haha, and its qt good! cant wait to see how they break out of it in the end. friends, pls dun spoil it for me! hehe..
Anyway, this week passed by very quickly! so fast, its the weekend again. time is passing too fast! felt like i havent done anything except work. sucky feeling. some how i feel like i shld be out there enjoying myself and doing stuff i've always wanted to do while i was in the army. whatever happened to my "Experience 2007"? haha..Well there's still time to salvage i guess...after i finish up my contract i have may n june to go for trips! hope i will work smt out!
Celebrated james' bday last sunday. he treated us to Cafe Cartel at imm! of cuz we reciprocated with his bday present la, addidas vouchers. a thick stack of it no less! haha..then at night my family came together to celebrate my dad's 55th bday! we, 3 brothers treated dad to dinner. simple affair :)

Im back! Yes, finally got my new laptop. dad decided not to get a new computer. so he told me to get a laptop! im very excited abt it! and very happy of cuz that i got it off the IT fair that happened last weekend. its a fujitsu 7111 if im not wrong. now i can come online more often, and update my blog.

Haha, i didnt wanna update so soon cos im waiting to settle down with my new laptop and do a "come back" kinda entry with pictures to show what i've been up to the past 3 or 4 mths dat i havent updated? cant believe the last proper entry was my bday one! and it didnt include pics of my actual bday, lolx. btw my bday was in nov, so u can imagine how long that was. Being without a comp and internet at home is sure not easy!

Still havent gotten my comp fixed. but wait, there's progress! i actually brought it down to cyberactive at westmall to have the experts look at it. but in the end, after 1 week, i decided not to fix it! haha..the total cost was gonna amount to 200+ so my dad decides that we shld get a new comp! so yay! im gonna be getting a new comp! so i will prob only do up this blog again when i get it. let's just say its "under construction".

Well, since im here, shall update a lil. one piece of good news wld be that Altitude is making a mini come back! mini in the sense that its only 3 of us - eugene, john and me! we're in impressario semi-finals which is held on 27th jan at junction8 from 1pm to 230pm. so come support us!

Hmm, what else have i been doing in my life? soccer is good..recently been playing soccer qt regularly. playing well too i dare say, creating and scoring goals. recently i found back my desire and passion for soccer. i just feel excited each time i think abt gg to play. and i love scoring goals again! and great to be able to play with my pals at jurong on a regular basis once again. pls read mike's blog for more soccer details, haha.

Other than that, im still working at Tuas. Been going to Mambo(which still rocks like hell) and supporting geri at netball games and going out i guess! next event coming up wld be chinese new year. im really looking forward to it! oh and vday comes first, haha. geri and i bought vday cards for each other already. we both went to borders and chose the card that we wanted for ourselves. lame rite? haha..

Hey peeps! havent updated for such a long time again! well, my comp's still down which means i cant go online. and i havent exactly had the time to fix my comp cos i've just been so busy at work. can u believe that i actually worked thru out the new year holidays? right thru it, from 30th dec to 2nd jan. totally no new year celebrations for me. tho i did manage to go to clarke quay for countdown with my baby! =)

Im now using geri's lap to come online. was reading my frens blog on her lap ytd and boy, was i laughing out loud! my frens are so damn funny man. i kept saying that. i started at john's blog, den eugene's, den mike, den javin, den james and den detz. (even detz updated!) and i found at least one thing to laugh abt in all of them! haha my frens rocks man, lolx.

Anyway, i've been so busy at work that the year turned without me really feeling it. i didnt even have any time to reflect abt the year that has just passed and make resolutions for my 2007. tho 2006 was qt good, i want my 2007 to be even better! for my immediate plans, i need to get my future settled fast. gonna be applying for uk uni before the deadline's over. need to rush over the next 2 weeks. fingers crossed that i'll get it done in time.

This week's pretty packed. got qt a few activities lined up already. i cant wait for a break! to sleep! haha..rest la. or relax at my poolside. havent swam and tanned for so long..i miss the sun! well, till next time! hopefully thats soon!

Well well well, time to blow the dust off this blog. havent updated since my super happy entry on my bday. thats cos i've been busy and also most imptly cos my comp's broken down! (im at geri's btw)now getting online is so inconvenient and it kinda sux. i'll try to get it fixed soon.

Happy birthday ryan!

Celebrated my 20th bday in advance ytd. i thot it was gonna be just geri and me but turned out she had a surprise installed for me! she came over to my place first to pass me my presents(a nike bag n m1 vouchers cos she knows i want a new phone!), then went headed down to holland v for our dinner. she brought me to this place called Essential Brews and its my first time there! and there the surprise awaits me. i followed her upstairs and when i looked ard guess who i saw? it was mike, det, javin and eugene! she actually planned a surprise dinner with my pals for me! haha of cuz i was surprised and thrilled to see them. even eugene was there, despite his exams haha.

So we had dinner there and of cuz it came with all the usual laughters, jokes and making fun of one another. john came to join us later too. and then geri dear had another surprise for me! a bday cake! Goldmine from NYDC, my fav! haha, she later told me that she had sneaked off to buy it while pretending to have gone to the toilet. i didnt even notice! haha..she's good. actually i felt odd to see only 2 candles on my cake. to be honest i wasnt qt expecting to see so few candles. guess it hasnt sunken in that im 20! no more a teen with many candles! haha..but yup, the cake was delicious. i bet detong agrees, haha.

After dinner, we went to look for a place to chill out and watch the man utd match. we settled at this place dat was actually a bit dark and kinda stuffy, haha. but the match was great cos man utd won! and it was funny to see how john was so worked up when ronaldo missed a open goal from half a metre? haha. After the match we concluded the nite and went our separate ways.

Wanna thank the guys...Mke, det, javin, eugene and john for coming down to be part of the surprise. was really great to have u guys ard. esp eugene who hasnt been joining us for gatherings due to his studies. and for coming despite his exams! thanks guys for the addidas vouchers too! definitely gonna go into my jacket fund haha.

And of cuz, a big thank you! to the lady who made it all possible! my super sweet, kind, loving, adorable, understanding, considerate, pretty, sexy, wonderful gf Geraldine Ho! she was the person who masterminded all these and planned everything! really loved the surprise, thanks baby! i really appreciate every thing that u've done for me(including the fact that u specially painted ur nails to the colour that i like for me!), im so so so lucky to have you as my baby! i love you! =)

Gone absent for a while cos i have started work! yup, thats rite, i've started work last wed and tml will be the end of my first week! seems like qt a long time alr! anw work is gg fine so far. on my first day i was introduced to the photocopier and i was delighted to find that i got along with it very well! so on the second day the photocopier introduced me to his pals, paper clips and fasteners! if u havent already guessed, i did photocopying work on the first day and filing on my second.

Haha its not as bad as it sounds la, i was just thinking of funny things to blog abt at work. of cuz i've been learning to use their accounting system as well and learning to do all the work that my colleague does so that i can take over when they go for trg on the new system that is set to be implemented next yr!

So far no OTs yet cos its not the busy time of the mth. that wld be at the end of the mth when we are closing the accts for the mth and also the end of the yr which im pretty much dreading! anyway i hope work remains fine for me cos im starting to enjoy it. i think im qt a workaholic. cos i actually thot of OT today and i refused to go off until i finished what i wanted to do even tho they are like hurrying me to leave haha.

Oh just realised i havent really said what i was doing. im actually an accounts assistant at a German MNC dealing with precious metals eg. platinum, gold, silver etc. yup!

Not really looking forward to going back camp, cos its so freaking far! haha..but on the bright side, im collecting my pink ic tml! yes!! finally the day is here man..i still rmb the moment on 8th Jan 2005 when i passed my pink ic to that guy at tekong when i enlisted into the army. so glad to have completed my full-time national service. it was filled with ups and downs i guess. pleasant and unpleasant memories. im thankful for the frens i've made tho, esp those in ocs. those frens i had were memorable. =) Anyway, back to the collecting ic part. i cant wait! gonna have to treat my subordinates and camp frens to pizza tml to pizza tho, cos i promised them a farewell treat, haha! Btw, im gonna start work on wednesday at my sisinlaw's company. so wish me luck as well!

Went out to town with john and detong today. felt like going shopping with the guys. and it turned out qt fruitful for me! usually i dun really see much that i like, but i was qt surprised i actually found qt a few shirts that i like. all in all i bought like 4 tshirts and 2 accessories. at such great prices too! spent like close to a hundred, but thats cos the accessories are pretty ex.

After shopping we had dinner at thai express at paragon. den we went to balcony to have a few drinks to chill out.

Raining again..its been raining everyday havent it? the first part of the day usually starts with bright sunshine but it always ends up with lightning, thunder and rain.

Yesterday was 31st Oct, halloween! javin, detz, john and i met up in the evening for some halloween dinner. decided to eat at Changing Appetites and Marina Sq cos of the halloween deco of the place and ppl. the waiters and waitresses were in costumes and painted their faces with blood and everything. qt apt for a halloween dinner rite? dinner was qt alrite, rounding it up with a cheesecake each. then john went off to meet velle for Prestige while det, javin and i played pool. plus det and i actually completed the whole game of "Go! Go! Mile! Smile!". haha its some old arcade game that i thot only i played, and det thot only he played. was surprised at each other cos its some really kiddish game, haha! we finished top of the hall of fame! but thats only cos i bet we're the only ppl who played it all week, lolx!

Despite of the constant rain, i managed to go for a swim the past 2 days! haha, and managed to soak some rays. detz came over early in the morning today and we went to the gym before hitting the pool. it was then still bright and sunny. following that we both had pastamania at westmall for lunch. my fav eating place no less! then we just walked ard westmall and bought some things before gg home.

No plans for tonight. thot of gg mambo but seems like nobody else is going. everyone is having exams or working or smt! i dun mind just chilling out at a bar some where. cld use some martinis or smt. its been such a long time since i had a night out!

Hmm guess im gonna slp now...just in case, haha.

Cant believe i just nua-ed the whole of today away...Woke up at 9plus this morning and drove my family out to breakfast at tiong bahru market. then we just drove back and the first thing i did when i reached home was to collapse on my bed. and there and then, from 12plus i just slept all the way till 330pm. i woke up to find my hse all empty! haha, looks like everyone decided to do more useful things than me. so what i did was pop in a dvd into my player and watched. Rumours Has It wasnt that good, i give it 1 star outta 5! haha. i toyed with the idea of gg to swim after the show, but was to lazy and decided to continue nua-ing ard my hse. so all i did was flip on mtv channel and started watching the reality shows. it was qt good actually. and tadah, dinner time now..its gonna be fish head curry! yummy yum! haha..

Pasta mania is open at westmall!! haha im so thrilled man. thats my fav fast food joint. im proud to say im a pasta maniac haha. went there to eat on friday with john who didnt eat cos he had diarrhoea, haha. den we met javin at je to play pool. friday's dinner was at jp fishnco with det and john. while waiting for our table, john and i were being lame by trying to "decorate" det up with all the halloween deco around. we made him hold on to the "Heart" and "hand" and "scissors" while taking photo of him. was super hilarious. maybe i'll put up the pics when john sends it to me.

After dinner the 3 of us spent a super long time talking. we were reminiscencing about our first few years as friends in RV. asking qns like "Why did u join EL?" or "do u think EL changed ur life?" and of cuz talking abt Altitude and our close bunch of friends. we were just teasing each other over the same things, and discussing abt how our friendships will work out in the future. it was really nice to be able to hang out with them and talk to them even at this age. really great to have this close bunch of friends to hang out with. i dun mean only john and det, but everyone in our usual gang la, like eugene, mike, javin, james, marvin, etc etc. at least there're ppl u know who will always hang out with you. i cant imagine if i have no more friends next time. im really afraid of that man! hahaz..

Played soccer on sat morning at chinese high. long time since we last played man. had a great time playing again. even did a backheel that lobang-ed this fat keeper that we all dun like. we beat him so many times that everytime he loses he kicks the ball really high up as a protest. only one phrase for him: "Losers go home!" haha.

Watched Departed with geri ytd. not bad la, tho qt confusing. infernal affairs is definitely better. everyone agrees with me too! haha. then it was off to dinner with geri and her family. was her granddad's bday so a lot of ppl were there. but it wasnt that bad. they're really funny ppl, haha.

Had sunday soccer this morning. my family went to desaru. was supposed to join them, but decided to stay to watch the manu liverpool game. so now im home alone! prob gonna play my FM2006, haha.

Im on leave now already! and i've already transferred all my barang barang from camp back home late last night. there was so much to bring back! imagine the entire of my dad's car's car boot being full of stuff! there were my field packs, my LBVs, my duffel and my paper bags of clothes and boots. lucky i had my baby to help me out! thanks dear! =)

Took a short trip to indonesia ytd with phang. took an hr's boat ride to get on board the gambling cruise ship in indonesia. i know its unlike me to go to such places, but i just wanted to go to experience it. and i must say it was qt an eye opener. in the sense that i saw how some ppl behave and what ppl do at casinos. the cruise was mainly filled with old aunties and uncles who are probably gambling away their life savings. i think i was the youngest on board! and those old aunties and uncles, when it comes to gambling, they can actually run! phang was saying that he's nv gonna give up seats to aunties on the trains anymore. for gambling, they can stand for so long ard the table and run towards the boat and everything. its really funny why they are always rushing to get on board. as if the boat will not wait for them like that. cant wait to lose money la, haha. anyway, i played baccarat the whole day. i won, lose, won back, den lose, den finally won back again to break even just before gg home. so thankful i didnt lose any money man! haha. poor phang lost abt 200bucks. i was qt close actually, haha. but baccarat was fun man.

Spent today at geri's hall. played theme hospital while she studied. haha, havent played that game for so many yrs. qt fun to play, esp when u can cheat! haha..."warning, hospital administrator is cheating" Anyway, think i shall spent tml packing my room. that'll take a few days. then i will make a trip to ikea and buy some new deco and maybe furniture?

And my sis in law is keen to hire me for her company. keeps asking me when im free to go to work. shld i?

2nd last working day today! as it was battalion block leave, nobody was ard today! and i did absolutely nth! let me recap on my day..Decided to wake up an hour later today and go to work later. i arrived ard 830 after much squeezing on bus no.2. met marvin at the dental centre and we went for breakfast. it was ard 9plus when i sent him off. following which i went back to office to read today's papers(gotta keep my general knowledge up to dude mind ya!). then i went to surf the net and watched videos at dailymotions.com. dont understand why there's so many french stuff on that site! i was off to the emart after that, to buy a pair of running shoes for my mom(not that she was ever gonna run. think we're gonna start with brisk walking ha!). that was already abt lunch time. so i went back to office and played risk on my workstation till it was 2pm and time to knock off! haha, not really knock off la. i went to cmpb on a despatch and got my passport extended as well. and that was it! i did absolutely nth in camp today! and entertained no one as well. might as well have not gone to work. haha...

2 more working days is what i have left! a few months back it seemed like ORD wld nv come and clearing leave seemed so far away. but look, its finally here..haha, feeling damn shiok to have an understudy with me. finally my time has come...time to ORD and just slack and relax. i have no immediate plans watsoever. prob gonna do nth for the rest of the yr! haha..well, i have my bday to look forward to! hopefully i get to celebrate it nicely this yr. i spent mine in brunei last yr! still rmb, how russell made the entire wing fall in to sing my a bday song. and how MWO paul made me give a speech in front of the whole wing, and how master devan got me a Black Label on the rocks and 2 dollars! haha..funny man..

Soccer today was not bad too! had fun, scored a few goals, though i felt slower and less agile than last time. i wonder if its age, or if its my injury. but still, i managed to score! i rmb how i grabbed eugene's "virginity" by blasting home shortly after kick off, haha! no more clean sheets this weekend eh pal? and we were missing mike(nobody to buy drinks haha!) he went to thailand for trg. hope he gets to enjoy the canteen there. well i did!

i feel like im just floating in and out of existence today. living very numbly. just walking around and doing things. and also walking around and doing nothing. read the entire set of Straits Times today. first time i've done that. even studied the orbituaries. was qt sad to see a few young faces there. seeing the orbituaries made me sad. it got me thinking abt how precious life was, how everyone is loved by somebody. and how sad it is if nobody were to love you. each person is only given one chance to live life. and to lose it at such a young age is such a pity. this lady, so young, left her husband, her children. such tragedy..got me thinking abt how ppl always take things for granted too. everyone says they nv take things for granted, or that they try not to take things for granted. but the fact is, everyone does that at some point in time. no matter how careful you are, a person is bound to commit this sin. its too difficult to truly count your blessings and not take things for granted, esp for simple everyday things. you will only start missing things after they're gone.

Havent spoken to her since ytd. im missing her a great deal..but i dont even know if she wanna speak to me. im not sure what to say to her too. im too ashamed to say anything. i wish i cld forget what happened. i wished it didnt happen. there's nth much for me to say to explain myself as well i guess, cos you're right my dear.

Back home nice and early today. Its already wed and im still feeling slack. guess dennis is correct, the previous entry wasn't abt monday blues. it should be called ORD MOOD! im sure my frens wld agree. on a side note, cant believe james actually extended his ORD!!

Anyway, attended Court Martial this morning. saw RJ there again, haha, seems like our 2 units always have ppl get charged. Had a JW case today. 2nd one i've seen so far. cant really understand why becos of religion, families and parents are willing to let their sons go to jail for 3 years. isnt that painful? cant they work smt out? and i also dun understand why they always want to fight against the court. its so obvious its a lose-lose case and they still want to fight. i thot it was gonna be interesting to stay and watch, but actually it was qt a waste of time. the JW guy kept fighting on points that have no bearing on the case. the fact was still that he disobeyed direct orders to take the oath and pledge allegience. there was no denying it. all he did was to raise other points that in my opinion are invalid. thot samantha the (dreadful) lawyer was qt pro today. but i guess thats only cos it was a win-win situation. no doubts. so in that fella goes for 15mths, afterwhich he will stand trial again and den go in another 15mths. god knows where i will be by then. such a waste of time for him dont ya think?

Went to CMPB in the afternoon to do some despatch, den went to AFRC to look for some old frens. Such a slack day man...really feel the ORD mood getting into my head. but actually qt sad that i still have a few unfinished business. hope things will pass soon. haiz..what a spoiler before ord!

Monday blues

Bloody monday!! okay, not exactly a very good way to start off my new blog, but wat the heck! guess the monday blues thing is really qt true cos i was just pretty lazy to do anything today. reached camp nice and early this morning, only to go up to bed and sleep. all the way till 9plus! only reached office at 10, haha.

Didnt exactly do much, and then it was lunch time! drove my frens out to changi v for lunch. this time i did put my parking coupon. for those who didnt know, i got fined $30 for not putting any parking coupon on sat! what luck man. actually this afternoon i almost forgot again! but luckily phang reminded me.

After lunch, still didnt feel like working. dropped by the emart and bought lotsa toilet rolls! gonna purchase more and keep at home. come on, at least toilet paper can use at home what! after that went to office and played risk, haha, still refusing to work work. then i decided to go do up the coy's safety noticeboard, with the help of one of my guys. then i felt really sick after that so i just slacked ard some more. and boss had to come back at 6! meaning i stayed back to work late..

Met my eldest bro and family for dinner though. had kenny roger's at great world city. apparently a lot of celebs went there. and all i saw was Mark Lee, haha! baby nicholas is such a cutie now. great smile! but too bad he cant talk yet..think he will be very chatty next time, haha!

I have breakfast with baby to look forward to tml morning, so yay! =)
